The person I got it from had it for a couple years and never could use it do to not being able to load a design. I recently picked up a non functioning embroidery machine, a Ricoma RCM-1201. I put in a 48v power supply and the machine stabilized, all the cuts are within 1 or 2 thousands. We found it was not giving good enough holds 10 thousands off in ether directions, we started by modifying settings, then changed the Gecko G540, then the SmoothStepper, and no change. 200 x 10 2000 but at that setting the XY axis moved way too much so I did an axis calibration in settings and Mach 3 recommend 40.
It leaves room underneath for the wires in the back (just unscrew it and lift it up to work on the wires). So I have been troubleshooting a machine for a 6040 CNC with Gecko G540 and SmoothStepper USB, it was converted with the original 24v power supply and work good, but after we fine-tuned it. Im using a Gecko G540 which I think is 10X micro stepping and according to the documentation cant be changed Anyway for XY I calculated steps per revolution to be 2000. This mount holds a Gecko Drives G540 stepper motor driver upright, so that the incoming cables plug in nicely. Gecko G540 and 48v Power Supply, yea its a must
